Situated in the heart of the "Vouvray" wine country and the many Castles of the Loire Valley (UNESCO), this charming XVth Century flour mill surrounded by a stream opens its doors to you.

While staying at the Moulin des Landes, you will have the opportunity to visit the local Castles, taste some of the finest wines from Vouvray, Montlouis and Chinon, discover local cuisine and the art of living "a la Française" and after a full day of discovery, enjoy a refreshing swim in our private pool (Children are under the responsibilities of the parents).

The Mill - History

The Moulin des Landes is made up of three buildings. The earliest one was built in 1625 by Louis de Houdan. The second one was constructed in 1726 when the mill was converted into a wheat mill. The chimney in the dining room dates from the 18th century. The third building, the Market, was built in 1851. After its purchase in 2001, the three buildings were renovated over a period of two years leading up to the moment it opened its doors to visitors for the first time in 2003.

    A few minutes from the Moulin, you have numerous opportunities of a variety of visits and activities. It will be a pleasure to give you our best addresses.

    For details on Golfs in Touraine click here. A 9-holes compact Golf "La Cisse" 5 minutes from Le Moulin, 3x 18-holes golf courses within 30 minutes offer you the opportunity to practice your favorite sport (Golf de Touraine, Golf de l'Ardrée, Golf des 7 Tours).

    Sail the Loire River on board of ancient boats "Gabares" will offer you different viewpoints of our Valley.

    Specials parks in the surrounding forests or cycling along the Loire River on dedicated tracks is also possible.

    Visiting the Castles and Wineries is at the heart of the tourism activities; all are at short distance from le Moulin and you will optimize your time by traveling around. You will find maps and brochures in Le Moulin and also at the Tourism Information Center nearby.

    Typical Fairs happening around the year, offering all the specialties from the Loire valley such as wines, special meals, gardening, where you can test the taste... Most of these events are in our agenda.

    Motor Sports are very active in our region with a variety of Racings : "Rallye Coeur de France", "Rallye Vallée de la Brenne", Le Mans and Le Mans Classic, and also local Classic gatherings in Tours or Savonniers (close to Villandry).

    Last but not least, Music festivals around Jazz, Blues and Classic are numerous in Touraine. They welcome renowned artists around the world (Jazz En Touraine, Blues Avoine, Blues Chedigny )
